Events

Events are one of the four basic Mosaic content types.

Each event is created as a separate content item. The 'Details' section allows you to specify the date, time, location, and other information, and (if you wish) to add a listing image.

A grid or list widget can then be used to create a listing of all events, or a specific subset of them. Clicking an item in the listing takes the user to the full content item.

Some display styles also include the option of a call to action. This is a second clickable element which takes the user to a different location, which can be either a page on the Mosaic site or an external resource. This is used in the 'Book now' links on this page.

Other grid display styles

A number of different display styles are available, and different options can be selected within each of them. For example, you can choose whether to display current and future events, or past ones. The listing below uses two grid widgets within an advanced tabbed content widget to allow users to switch between the two.

Note that the images here are a different shape. Mosaic will crop images to fit the display style selected - so choose your combination of images and display style carefully!

Upcoming events
Past events

This grid listing (of past events) has the option to show the listing text deselected, to keep each item in the listing small and compact. It also features a drop-down list, to allow users to see only the events in their chosen category.

A text-only grid style is also available.

List widgets

Event listings can also be created using the list widget. Each item in a list widget occupies the whole width of the region it appears in, which means lists tend to look better in narrower page regions (region 3 of the Mosaic page, in this case).

There are numerous different styles of list: one is illustrated here.
