Using the Disqus comment function

A comment function can be added to Mosaic web pages using Disqus.

The Disqus comment function can be seen below, and on other posts in this blog. Commenters can log in using their Google, Facebook, or Twitter ID - or they can create a Disqus account.

Note

Disqus is a third-party service, and users will need to assess whether it meets their requirements before adding this functionality to their Mosaic site. In particular, Disqus may be classed as a processor of personal data on behalf of the University, so GDPR compliance needs to be considered.

Users should be aware that Disqus comments will be visible via both the Mosaic site and a page on the Disqus site. In most cases, this shouldn't present a problem, but if the Disqus comment function is used on an Oxford-only page, it is good practice to make commenters aware that the comment data is being stored on a third-party server, and is accessible by people who are not logged in to the Oxford-only site section.
